Memorial Day in Utah

We spent Memorial week in Midway at our time share. While there we visited lots of the relatives, both living and dead. The dead got flowers on their graves. We also rode the train (Heber Creeper) from Heber to Vivian Park and back. Lots of pretty scenery. While in Utah we also saw lots of our relatives (Daniel, Penny, Sarah, and Jimmy, above picture.) That is Mount Timpanogas in back of the cows. And the top picture is taken in Rexburg where we drove to on the way back to Klamath. We wanted to see our "students" before coming home. A good vacation for Grandpa and Grandma.

Mark, Anita, and Little Pax

Mark and Anita and little Pax came by on their way to Texas for the summer. We loved visiting with them and knowing that the name of Paxman is still going strong in the family.
More visitors from the Paxman family -- Gary, Judy, Beva and John - Pax and Elaine's children, drove down from Washington and Portland for an overnight visit. How simply great it was to see them and that they would make the effort to come to us. Some of you will remember the asparagus we had that grew wild in our grape vineyard. Gary brought much, much fresh asparagus from Sunnyside for all of us to enjoy. It was so great to do fun things with them and with Anne and Lynn.

SPRING BROUGHT FLOWERS AND FAMILY

We waited a long time but the trees finally blossomed. Now the lilacs are also in full bloom and the aroma is wonderful.

WICKED/TRAIN RIDE

What could be better than a great Broadway musical and a train ride to get there? This is what we did last weekend.
Bob waiting for the train to arrive in Klamath Falls.

Here it comes! Yeah, and only a half hour late.

Me on the train.

There was lots of snow going over the mountains. It was fun to see how the wind had blown over the snow and made it very smooth. It was also fun to see how much snow they had to plow away from the tracks so the train could get by.

Just a pretty view from the window. The front of the train is going around the curve, but you can't see it. The weekend was loads of fun even if it was only overnight. All of Anne and Lynn's family was there. Fun! Fun! Fun !

Happy St. Patrick's Day

MAY THE FACE OF EVERY GOOD NEWS AND THE BACK OF EVERY BAD NEWS BE TOWARDS US. Irish Blessing

If I had a picture of Ireland, or even a picture of a shamrock, I would put it in here. But I don't, so my blog is pretty boring. But I am planning to serve an Irish lunch to my Relief Society sisters on Wednesday, the day after St. Patricks Day. We will have corned beef and cabbage, mashed potatoes with added stuff, green Jello salad, and a pretty chocolate and minty green dessert. One of the men in the ward is going to come and sing Irish songs for us. Should be lots of fun.

Have a good day and remember that we have Irish ancestors--we just can't find them--yet!!

Klamath snow/frost

Our home is somewhere up there behind the fog on the mountainside.

We may not have alot of snow in Klamath, but we do have winter beauty. These pictures were taken on the path we walk after a night of fog and cold. Nature is really beautiful!!

The Beginning

This is quite an adventure for an old grandma like me. Hopefully it will help me keep in touch with the family in ways other than the phone. But don't quit the phone calls. I love those.

Christmas at the ocean was great. I especially loved the huge waves. Took alot of pictures. Examples enclosed. The girls also enjoyed a dip in the hot tub.
